Via Van Liew is the principal director of Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion at The Aerospace
Corporation, which is based in El Segundo, California. In this roll, her efforts are focused on
recruiting, employing, and retaining a diverse workforce with rich backgrounds and perspectives
that generate the best solutions. To this end, Van Liew has led a comprehensive effort to develop
and implement diversity, equity, and inclusive initiatives that create distinct and measurable
impact and are scalable throughout the national company. She leads the company’s numerous
campaigns to expand and implement this commitment.

Since assuming the role of principal director for Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion, Van Liew has
restructured the Executive Diversity Council, adding six senior vice presidents, implemented a
diversity scorecard and dashboard, and increased diversity representation in the Board of
Trustees.

Van Liew joined People Operations at Aerospace as a manager of Diversity and Inclusion in
2017. She co-chairs the Executive Diversity Council chaired by the CEO and manages the
Aerospace Committee for Equality overseeing 34 diversity, equity, and inclusion actions across
Aerospace’s six focus areas: Recruitment, Representation, Retention, Education and Training,
K-12 STEM Outreach, and Community Outreach.

Before joining Aerospace, Van Liew was a manager for Global Human Resource Compliance
and Diversity and Inclusion at Mattel, Inc. for 10 years. She was also an organizational
effectiveness diversity and inclusion consultant at Health Net, Inc. for seven years.
